ASTROPHIL & STELLA Shanghai 1930 was created by Arturetto Landi, an Italian perfumer based in Dubai. It was inspired by Shanghai in the 1930s – a cosmopolitan city where the lives of spies, poets, revolutionaries, and visionaries intertwined. The composition opens with the freshness of bergamot and Earl Grey green tea, warmed by accords of plum, mango, and cinnamon. The heart pulsates with tuberose, champaca, and jasmine, intertwined with ylang-ylang and orchid, creating an aura of exoticism and refined elegance. The entire composition rests on a base of sandalwood, myrrh, tonka bean, vanilla, and white musk, which lend the fragrance a sensual longevity. Shanghai 1930 is a journey back to a time when the city on the Huangpu River symbolized luxury, mystery, and unfettered freedom.
